Carthage Museum on Byrsa Hill

Last weekend we went on an outing to Carthage and visited the museum which stands on Byrsa Hill, right next to the Cathedral of St Louis.  Like many other touristic sites in Tunisia, we find that no matter how many times we have visited it in the past, each time we come away with a new experience.  Here then are a selection of my photographs from our visit.

UNESCO World Heritage Site plaque designated to the site in Carthage in 1979.

Foundations of Punic houses unearthed on Byrsa Hill.

View over the ruins towards the Mediterranean coast.
