Like many other major cities around the world, there is a bicyle sharing rental scheme in place in Tel Aviv in order to encourage people to use a bicycle instead of driving a car. The bicycles are maintained by the Municipality of Tel Aviv-Yafo and these drop-off, pick-up points otherwise known as "stations" are in prominent hubs near city attractions. A website in English entitled, "Tel-O-Fun" explains how one can rent a bicycle. The website also says, "with 2,000 bicycles, 200 stations and 130km of riding lanes, Tel-O-Fun green bikes have become a natural transportation choice for locals and tourists and it's available 24/7." So, next time you are on an errand in central Tel Aviv why don't you consider renting a bicycle? It is a leisurely way to get around town and it's good exercise.
