Anagallis monelli - Blue Pimpernel

Anagallis monelli (Blue Pimpernel) in flower.

It is Spring here in Tunisia.  A visit to see Roman ruins is also a good opportunity to identify and photograph plants.  Anagallis monelli which is commonly known as the Blue Pimpernel is a delicate looking perennial with brilliant blue flowers which open in the sun and close in the shade.  It appears to be quite prolific and tends to favour uneven rocky ground, cultivated fields and tracks.
