I wanted to share with you a visit we made to Villa Medici - The French Academy in Rome last week. "The Villa Medici is an architectural complex centred on the villa whose gardens are contiguous with the larger Borghese gardens, on the Pincian Hill next to Trinità dei Monti in Rome, Italy. The Villa Medici, founded by Ferdinando I de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany and now property of the French State, has housed the French Academy in Rome since 1803. A musical evocation of its garden fountains features in Ottorino Respighi's Fontane di Roma." The following extract was taken from this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Villa_Medici
Here are some photographs I took during the guided tour of the gardens at Villa Medici. We went there with the intention of seeing an exhibition called "Europunk". A guided visit to the gardens was included in the price of the ticket. I must say I enjoyed the visit to the gardens more than the exhibition itself.
