Types of bread: Tabouna

Tabouna is a traditional round, flat piece of unleavened bread baked in a clay/terracotta oven in rural areas by village women.  The terracotta oven which is used to bake this particular bread resembles a large vase.  A rare sight is an old man on a horse or donkey drawn cart selling these ovens in the suburban streets of Tunis.
