The Arts and culture in Tunis and Tunisia

Speaking of the Arts or should I say writing about the Arts, it has occurred to me that I haven't given the subject of the Arts and culture in Tunis and Tunisia much recognition but I shall soon remedy that.

The Arts and culture here in Tunis is very active.  There are many art galleries which have successive exhibitions, there are several cinemas, there is a beautiful Art Nouveau style theatre building which has regular plays in Arabic and French which are the two official languages in Tunisia.  There are also annual music and film festivals so, pretty much all aspects of the Arts are covered.

Infact, tomorrow the 2nd October 2010 there is the 5th Musiqat Traditional Music Festival starting and it will run until the 16th October 2010.  This year there will be musicians participating from Mali, France, Lebanon, Bulgaria, India, Tunisia, Chile, Ireland, Yemen and Turkey.  The concerts will be held at the beautiful location of the Ennejma Ezzahra Palace in Sidi Bou Said.  More information can be obtained from the following link:
